The Black Elk Hair Caddis is what dry fly fishing is all about. Many huge Brown Trout have been pulled out from under banks with these. Works as well dead drifted as it does on the swing. Trout even love to hit it while it is being pulled upstream during retrieval.

Featuring hard "eggs" to get the fly down deeper, our Egg Cluster Red is best fished under an indicator or as a hopper dropper set up.

Being a weighted fly our Cluster Egg Pink is used to get well below the surface to where the fish are feeding. Fish go nuts for eggs.

Our Dragon Tail White is our new favorite bull trout fly but also works well with any other fish that eats meat.

Another deadly colour combination for all fish with teeth, the Dragon Tail Purple/Black has also been known to occasionally attract birds. It's just that realistic. 

The Dragon Tail Orange is a fun fly for pike and musky. Its bright colours enable visibility from long distances. When you fly disappears it's game on!

Our Dragon Tail Chartreuse is a very productive fly for pike. The fact that it can be seen from long distances make it even more enjoyable. 

Our Brown Dragon Tail is a new fly for the end of 2025 that has performed very well during testing.

We tend to use the Dragon Tail Black/Purple during darker days, early evening and during fall. However we are finding it more and more useful in all situations. 

Targeting big trout? Everyone else is too, except those that don't have our Double Bunny Streamer Olive and White. Double rabbit strips create an irresistible movement to entice all forms of predators including bass, steelhead, pike and many others.

Our Double Buford Perch is an exciting addition to our predator lineup. With colours that you can see from 50ft away and movement to entice even the most picky predator it is one of our favorites.

Trickflies.ca headquarters, located in Edmonton, Alberta has limited access to trout waters. Locations for pike and walleye are much closer and more accessible that for trout, therefore we find ourselves fishing for pike more often than not. One of our go to patterns is the Double Buford Cotton Candy. The movement in the water along with some flash seems to bring out pike even on the slowest of days. Maybe it is also the fact that at 11 inches in length, this fly represents a big easy meal. Either way, it makes for some fun fishing!

At 11 inches in length our Double Buford Chartreuse and White is one large fly but still light enough to cast long distances. Pike and musky really love this fly as it represents an easy, high calorie meal.

Our Double Buford Bluegill is a fantastic addition to our pike/muskie line up. It moves a lot of water and has a movement that entices predatory strikes.

A Double Buford Black and Red is something that has been in development for quite awhile here at Trickflies.ca. Large flies are what we love to toss at monster pike and at 11 inches in length this is one of the largest we carry. The tailing hook is perfect for when the pike slightly miss their target as well as it creates a baitfish like motion in the water.
