The Lure Doctor — Soft Plastic Bait Repair Tool (USB‑C Rechargeable)
The Lure Doctor is a soft plastic bait repair tool built to repair, fuse, and weld soft plastic lures back together. If you fish swimbaits, paddletails, grubs, or any rubber bait that gets torn, this soft plastic lure repair tool helps you extend bait life and keep your favorite plastics in rotation.
Unlike high-heat “torch and knife” methods, The Lure Doctor is designed for controlled soft plastic welding, so you can target the damaged area and create a clean, solid repair.
3 heat settings for soft plastic lure repair
Choose the right heat level for the plastic and the conditions:
- Green (Low): the go-to setting for most rubber types and everyday soft plastic bait repair
- Blue (Medium): for thicker plastics or faster fusing
- Red (High): for maximum heat when needed (control is still key)
Cold or wet weather? Use the quick preheat (double tap power, wait a few seconds).
Precision blade tip = cleaner repairs
The slim blade lets you work on smaller areas, so you can heat and fuse at the same time—ideal for:
- Tail repairs on paddletails and swimbaits
- Split bodies and torn hook slots
- Small tears that normally ruin a bait
Tips for a strong “weld.”
- Less is more: you want the temperature where the rubber naturally wants to fuse
- Don’t overcook it: overheating can break the plastic down and melt it away
- Let it cool: dip the repaired lure in water before testing the strength of the weld
