Packrafts The MRS packrafts have become our number one best-selling item, and it’s easy to see why. They are fantastic on so many levels: quality of material, lightweight, easy to assemble and pack up, great warranty and FUN! Our family loves spending time exploring mountain lakes and canals near our home around the Rocky Mountains. While we have not personally gone through any rapids yet, lots of our customers have, and they love MRS packrafts for whitewater. If you aren’t familiar with packrafting, one of the newer sports in North America, it can seem like these boats are too good to be true! They fit into a backpack (no more carrying around a big bulky canoe or kayak, thank you) and are surprisingly easy to inflate with the screw-on airbag where you “catch” air and compress it into the boat. After about ten scoops of air from the airbag, the vessel is 90% inflated. A few more puffs from your mouth or an optional (not-included) pump, and your raft is buoyant and ready to go. Another surprising feature of these beauties is how sturdy they actually are. When people first see them, they think that they are going to rip easily, but they are actually very strong. And in the improbable event of damage to the material, MRS offers a three-year warranty. Our good friend had his stuck in an underwater cave for months, and even after that crazy adventure, he was able to use his MRS packraft. Material The material is hand-made from high-quality urethane-coated nylon, (not PVC or Hypalon like other cheaper boats on the market). This material is light, abrasion-resistant, UV tolerant, non-ageing and flexible even at low temperatures. It has been specially treated to make a smooth, scratch-resistant surface. This creates a supple material for easy packing and folding. It is also very easy to repair in the unlikely event that the packraft should need a patch. MRS fully supports sustainable development and is deeply involved in the research and development of TPU coated fabric. The TPU fabric in the MRS packrafts are all Swiss Bluesign®-certified, meaning that they are environmental-friendly and manufactured in a safe workspace. Distinctive Features The MRS Viking Self Bailer is an adaption of the Alligator 2S Pro, the ultimate whitewater packraft. The major difference is that the floor of the Viking Self-Bailer has 11 drainage holes (and baffle plates) that drain and reduce water resistance when paddling. It also features an adjustable, inflatable half-floor and an adjustable, inflatable foot rest. The MRS Viking Self Bailer comes with an optional internal storage system (ISS), where the stern of the boat can be accessed with a water-resistant zipper and the side tubes can be stuffed with more storage. This actually proves to be an advantage in handling the boat and does not affect buoyancy. However, once you open the zip, the craft deflates, so you will want to be strategic about what you store in the side tubes. Using a drybag will make it easy to access your gear from the side tube. Details: Weight: 4.40 kg (9.7 lbs) Capacity (Person): 1 Inner Length: 136 cm (53.5 inches) Outer Length: 269 cm (105.9 inches) Inner Width: 34 cm (13.4 inches) Outer Width: 92 cm (36.2 inches) Tube diameter: 29 cm (11.4 inches) Pack size: 40 x 60 x 30 cm (15.7 x 23.6 x 11.8 inches) Recommended capacity: 102 kg (224.9 lbs) Maximum capacity: 135 kg (297.6 lbs) Speed: 4 (out of 6) Whitewater: 6 (out of 6) Seat cushion & backrest: 1 Spraydeck: none (self-bailing) Grab loops: 10 Thigh straps: 4-point Includes: seat, backrest, inflation bag, repair patches, thigh straps, straps, skeg, adjustable inflatable floor, adjustable inflatable footrest, user's manual Colors: Red, Yellow, Blue, Green, Black/Yellow, Sand beige, Orange, Purple Comparison Chart MRS offers a three-year warranty. MRS fully supports sustainable development and is deeply involved in the research and development of TPU coated fabric. The TPU fabric in the MRS packrafts are all Swiss Bluesign®-certified, meaning that they are environmental-friendly and manufactured in a safe workspace. Distinctive Features The MRS Viking EVO Self Bailer has been called the most exciting development in Packraft technology. It is the tandem evolution of the Viking Self Bailer, an adaption of the Alligator 2S Pro, the ultimate whitewater packraft. The hull has been optimized and is longer than a Barracuda R2, providing a better experience for two paddlers in rapid waters. It's important to note that in addition to the extra seat, the major improvement is the floor of the Viking Self-Bailer X2, which has more drainage holes (and baffle plates) that drain and reduce water resistance when paddling. Water drains FAST! This design feature, along with the adjustable inflatable half-floor and inflatable footrest, enhances safety by ensuring the packraft remains buoyant and responsive even in challenging whitewater conditions. It is a stiffer, lighter, super responsive boat, perfect for advanced paddlers to easily edge and roll The Viking EVO X2 self-bailing floor has undergone a complete overhaul, resulting in a surprisingly more agile and responsive performance. The new floor hole can be fully closed to prevent water accumulation, and the two drainage holes are concentrated under paddler's feet for enhanced performance. This significant improvement in the field of inflatable self-bailing packrafts directly addresses the slow response issue that has been a common concern in the past. The packraft is made from durable, high-quality materials, ensuring its longevity and performance even in rugged outdoor conditions, providing reassurance to potential buyers. The Viking EVO Self Bailer X2 is meticulously designed with user comfort and convenience as top priorities. The footrest is strategically positioned lower than the seat, ensuring a comfortable ride. There is no space for water to get trapped around the seats. For added comfort in cold water, we recommend the use of diving socks. The adjustable, inflatable footrest provides firm leg support, while the ultra-light, non-slip 5-point leg straps enhance the packraft's responsiveness. The packraft also comes with a removable skeg and a T-ZIPP zipper and an internal bladder in each seat for easy inflation and storage of small items (5L). Comfortable Paddling Experience The backrest and ultra-light, anti-slip 4P thigh straps are adjustable to suit your height and shape. They are designed to be fixed to the knees and detach when your legs are straightened. Compared with the inflatable backrest, the EVA foam backrest feels stronger than an inflatable backrest and wraps to fit your frame. The MRS Viking EVO Self Bailer X2 ISS offers a versatile internal storage system, where the stern of the boat can be accessed with a water-resistant zipper and the side tubes can be stuffed with more storage. This unique feature proves to be an advantage in handling the boat and does not affect buoyancy. However, once you open the zip, the craft deflates, so you will want to be strategic about what you store in the side tubes. Using the drybags (included with the ISS model) makes accessing your gear from the side tube easy and has the added advantage of keeping your gear dry while avoiding the risk of losing it in whitewater. The Viking EVO Self Bailer X2 also comes in an easy fold option of 210D instead of the regular 420D material. Not only does this reduce the weight of the packraft, it also makes it easier to fold. Main specifications: Weight: 8.14kg +/- Tube fabric: 210D/420D Floor fabric: 840D Manufacturer warranty: 3 years Details: Waterline: 368cm Waterline breadth: 96cm Tube Diameter: 31cm Load Capacity recommended: 220kg Outer Length: 380cm Outer Width: 100cm Inner Length: 242cm Inner Width: 38cm Seat width: 37cm Weight seat (x2): 307g Backrest (x2): 500g Grab loop: 36g Skeg: 85g 5p thigh straps (x2): 625g Regular Evo X2 packraft: 6.19 kg (total weight 7.75 kg) Evo X2 with ISS packraft: 6.25 kg (total weight 7.80 kg) Light Evo X2 packraft: 5.74 kg (total weight 7.29 kg) Inflation bag(Size M 100L): 200g straps: 20g Comparison Chart MRS offers a three-year warranty. DISTINCTIVE FEATURES The Surveyor X2 packraft has been designed to be as lightweight as possible while still retaining the iconic MRS streamlined hull. The centered seating position optimizes the boat's control ability, and the redesigned backrest provides even support while maintaining breathability. MRS opted to prioritize backpacking experience, and the Surveyor is a comfortable and capable packraft that is still lightweight. Tizip airtight zippers can be added to expand internal storage (ISS). Please be aware when planning to use the Surveyor X2 for rafting and other high-risk activities that the coating of this fabric is extremely thin. The floor is made of high-weave 210D material, which is great for general water sports. Use the skeg (included) to improve tracking when paddling. There are two available colours: white and olive. The white option provides a cooler ride as it does not absorb heat from the sun. This also prevents fluctuations in air pressure, a convenient feature when you are in the sun all day. The white fabric is more susceptible to yellowing than other colors when exposed to ultraviolet rays. It is normal that the sunlight breaks down the molecules in the fabric, causing it to yellow over time. Store it in a shade location after use. The total weight of the white Surveyor X2 is only 3.46 kg (7.2 lbs), another advantage for the ultra-light packer. This fabric is extremely thin and if you use the Surveyor X2 for activities that involve a lot of contact with rough surfaces, please be aware that the fabric may tear or become damaged. The advantages of the olive Surveyor X2 are that it is a great camouflage colour, the coating is slightly thicker than the white one, the scratch resistance is improved, and it is still light and easy to fold. The total weight of the olive Surveyor X2 is only 3.75 kg (8.26 lbs). Packrafts MRS packrafts have become our number one best-selling item, and it’s easy to see why. They fit into a backpack (no more carrying around a big bulky canoe or kayak, thank you) and are surprisingly easy to inflate with the screw-on nylon airbag where you “catch” air and compress it into the boat. After about ten scoops of air from the airbag, the vessel is 90% inflated. A few more puffs from your mouth or an optional (not-included) pump, and your raft is buoyant and ready to go. Another surprising feature of these inflatable boats is how sturdy they actually are. This material is light, abrasion-resistant, UV tolerant, non-ageing and maintains flexibility at low temperatures. Distinctive Features This particular model works best on still water, so it's great for exploring lakes and fishing. This product opens up a whole new realm of hiking possibilities and adventures for you to explore. It is one of the lightest of the packrafts we carry (only the Tulo is lighter), making it a perfect option for backpacking. The Ponto model is the slightly larger version of the Tulo. The Ponto has been called the fat bike and pontoon of packrafts because of its generous width, perfect for carrying a bit extra and a feature that makes it super-sturdy and rugged. You will have enough space in a Ponto to carry extra luggage or even a small child. This feature makes it a favorite with hunters, anglers, cyclists, backpackers, dog parents and families. It is also an excellent option for people who are extra tall or too large to fit comfortably in a single packraft and aren’t planning any whitewater adventures. Another distinctive of the Ponto is that it doesn’t have a spray deck. This is an advantage for some, especially if you aren’t concerned about cold water splashing into your packraft or if you are trying to lighten your overall weight (a spray deck adds about 600-700 grams or 1.3-1.5 lbs). Details: Weight: 2.9 kg (6.3 lbs) Capacity (Person): 1 Inner Length: 135.5 cm (53.3 inches) Outer Length: 254.5 cm (100 inches) Inner Width: 33 cm (13 inches) Outer Width: 91 cm (35.8 inches) Tube diameter: 29 cm (11.4 inches) Pack size: 40 x 60 x 20 cm (15.7 x 23.6 x 7.8 inches) Recommended capacity: 102 kg (225 lbs) Maximum capacity: 138 kg (304 lbs) Speed: 2 (out of 6) Whitewater: no Seat cushion & backrest: 1 Spraydeck: no Grab loops: 8 Thigh straps: no Repair material: 20 grams (0.7 ounce) Inflation bag: 130 grams (4.5 ounces) Pack strap/bag: 25 grams (0.8 ounce) Includes: seats, backrest, inflation bag, repair patches, strap Colors: Red, Yellow, Blue, Green, Sand Beige, Orange, Purple Comparison Chart MRS offers a three-year warranty. Please note that these products may ship in 2-3 weeks from the time you place your order, depending on how many we have in stock. MRS fully supports sustainable development and is deeply involved in the research and development of TPU coated fabric. The TPU fabric in the MRS packrafts are all Swiss Bluesign®-certified, meaning that they are environmental-friendly and manufactured in a safe workspace. Distinctive Features The Nomad S1 series is great for speed because of its streamlined shape and longer waterline. It is the fastest single person packraft that we carry. This is the new and improved model after the designers responded to customer feedback on the previous model. The narrow hull reduces water resistance and also lets you paddle the packraft with less effort. The detachable skeg reduces water resistance and increases the overall stability when you want to do so. This reduces lateral swing and increases the speed of the vessel. Although it has a narrow hull, it is specially equipped with a high seat cushion so that you will not be squeezed between the tubes. You will have plenty of space as you sit on the high-set seat. This particular model works best on still water, and it's excellent for exploring lakes and fishing. You could also easily take the Nomad down a river with no rapids. If you think you might be paddling in a lot of rivers, you will want to order the spraydeck to keep you dry. The Nomad S1 opens up a whole new realm of hiking possibilities and adventures for you to explore. It is one of the lightest of the packrafts we carry, making it a perfect option for backpacking. Many people love the Nomad Series for it's sturdy, reliable feel. The Nomad S1 series comes with optional internal storage system (ISS), where the stern of the boat can be accessed with a water-resistant zipper, and the side tubes can be stuffed with more storage. This actually proves to be an advantage in handling the boat and does not affect buoyancy. However, once you open the zip, the craft deflates, so you will want to be strategic about what you store in the side tubes. Using a dry bag will make it easy to access your gear from the side tube. There is a Nomad XL version which is 14 cm (5.5 inches) longer inside than the regular Nomad. The seat is 4 cm (1.5 inches) wider than a regular Nomad. The Nomad XL offers a 4 point thigh strap connection (versus the 3 point in the regular Nomad). There is also a Nomad Lake option in which the bow is flatter and has a longer waterline, which is especially suitable for flat water. It does not come with thigh strap tie downs, but it does come with an adjustable footrest. Nomad S1 Series Options Include: Internal storage system (ISS), Inflatable foot rest, thigh straps and a spray deck (type-D). Please note that thigh straps need to be ordered separately. MRS fully supports sustainable development and is deeply involved in the research and development of TPU-coated fabric. The TPU fabric in the MRS packrafts is all Swiss Bluesign®-certified, meaning that they are environmental-friendly and manufactured in a safe workspace. DISTINCTIVE FEATURES The Minnow is an ultralight, easy to fold packraft made from ultra-thin coated fabric, with a hull weight of 1.5kg and 1.85kg fully equipped with a fin. Although the Minnow is an ultra-light design, it additionally features front and rear centered seating, which helps to improve its ability to glide in water. The product has also been designed for durability, with the bottom material covering some of the vulnerable parts of the packraft. The ultra-thin fabric makes it super easy to fold the Minnow for storage. The total weight of the white Minnow is only 1.9 kg (4.2 lbs), another advantage for the ultra-light packer. This fabric is extremely thin and if you use the Minnow for activities that involve a lot of contact with rough surfaces, please be aware that the fabric may tear or become damaged. The advantages of the olive Minow are that it is a great camouflage color, the coating is slightly thicker than the white one, the scratch resistance is improved, and it is still light and easy to fold. The total weight of the olive Minnow is only 2.15 kg (4.7 lbs). The Mini Shark is not just another packraft. MRS has designed a unique, new model combining the best of a whitewater packraft with a kayak-style appearance. Features: The Mini Shark boasts a sleek, streamlined hull and a subtly upturned bow. These features enhance its appearance and make it a powerhouse in white water, effortlessly navigating through waves and boosting the packraft's agility. The tube is smaller than other models, which makes climbing back into the boat and self-rescue easy after capsizing. At the same time, the low-center-of-gravity seat makes it easy for the paddler to keep balance in white water, offsetting the negative impact of the small tube on stability. The Deck can be accessed by zipper to open in half, and the goods can be stored at the rear. Includes adjustable footrest and 5 point thigh strap. MRS's design team has carefully considered the Mini Shark's performance in both white and flat water. This packraft is not just for the thrill-seekers but also for those who enjoy a more leisurely paddle. MATERIAL The material is hand-made from high-quality urethane-coated nylon, (not PVC or Hypalon like other cheaper boats on the market). This material is light, abrasion-resistant, UV tolerant, non-ageing and maintains flexibility at low temperatures. It has been specially treated to make a smooth, scratch-resistant surface. The Mini Shark's hull and deck are made of 420D fabric and the floor is made of 840D fabric. It needs to be inflated to 3 psi pressure. Packrafts The MRS packrafts have become our number one best-selling item, and it’s easy to see why. This material is light, abrasion-resistant, UV tolerant, non-ageing and maintains flexibility at low temperatures. It has been specially treated to make a smooth, scratch-resistant surface. Distinctive Features The Microraft Series is an updated classic packraft. MRS redesigned the Microraft series after listening to customer feedback. The new and improved design resulted in a packcraft with a sharper, more streamlined appearance with significantly reduced water resistance. This new design also improves the buoyancy of the front hull, which means the boat can carry more luggage, or more weight. One great feature of the Microrafts is that they come in a variety of sizes from XS to Large. Check out the Extra Long Microraft here. All Microraft models come with a spraydeck that detaches on 3 sides, allowing you to roll it ups when you don't to use it. There are 3 options for spraydecks. The standard spraydeck has velcro on one side with a zipper on the other side (type C) so you can enter the cabin and close the spraydeck quickly and easily. There is also the option for a type E spray deck (velcro on both sides). The velcro is not fully waterproof. If you prefer a fully-sealed spray deck, then you will want to consider the type D spray deck (zipper on both sides) or consider purchasing the MRS Alligator packraft. For more information on spray deck options for the microraft see how to choose your packraft. The Microraft ISS Series comes with an optional internal storage system (ISS), where the stern of the boat can be accessed with a water-resistant zipper and the side tubes can be stuffed with more storage. This actually proves to be an advantage in handling the boat and does not affect bouyancy. However, once you open the zip, the craft deflates, so you will want to be strategic about what you store in the side tubes. Using a drybag will make it easy to access your gear from the side tube. Packrafts MRS packrafts have become our number one best-selling item, and it’s easy to see why. Materials The material is hand-made from high-quality urethane-coated nylon, (not PVC or Hypalon like other cheaper boats on the market). This material is light, abrasion-resistant, UV tolerant, non-ageing and maintains flexibility at low temperatures. It has been specially treated to make a smooth, scratch-resistant surface. Distinctive Features The Microraft Extra Long is 40 cm longer than the Microraft. The bouyancy and space in the bow are greatly increased making it perfect for taller persons. The extended space is great for storing a large amount of luggage, or a bicycle. You could also load your dog or a small child if you remove the deck. This particular model works best on still water, so it's great for exploring lakes and fishing. You could also easily take the Microraft down a river with no rapids. This product opens up a whole new realm of hiking possibilities and adventures for you to explore. It is perfect for backpacking. The Microraft Extra Long ISS Series comes with an optional internal storage system (ISS), where the stern of the boat can be accessed with a water-resistant zipper and the side tubes can be stuffed with more storage. This actually proves to be an advantage in handling the boat and does not affect buoyancy. However, once you open the zip, the craft deflates, so you will want to be strategic about what you store in the side tubes. Using a dry bag will make it easy to access your gear from the side tube. The difference between the Microsoft Extra long and the Adventure X2 is that this packraft is narrower and is designed for 1 person to row. The latest version has an upgraded, extra resistant bottom (840D). Details: Weight: 4.20 kg (9.3 lbs) Capacity (Person): 1 Inner Length: 178.8 cm (70.4 inches) Outer Length: 295 cm (116.3 inches) Inner Width: 32 cm (12.6 inches) Outer Width: 89 cm (35.4 inches) Tube diameter: 28.5 cm (11 inches) Pack size: 40 x 60 x 30 cm (15.7 x 23.6 x 11.8 inches) Recommended capacity: 108 kg (238 lbs) Maximum capacity: 145 kg (319.6 lbs) Speed: 4 (out of 6) Whitewater: 3 (out of 6) Seat cushion & backrest: 1 Spraydeck: yes Grab loops: 12 Thigh straps: no Repair material: 20 grams (0.7 ounce) Inflation bag: 130 grams (4.5 ounces) Pack strap/bag: 25 grams (0.8 ounce) Includes: seat, backrest, inflation bag, repair patches, straps, skeg, user's manual Colors: Red, Yellow, Blue, Green, Sand Beige, Orange, Purple Comparison Chart MRS offers a three-year warranty. The TPU fabric in the MRS packrafts are all Swiss Bluesign®-certified, meaning that they are environmental-friendly and manufactured in a safe workspace. Distinctive Features The biggest selling feature of the Fin Whale is its size! Its inside space is 30% larger than a Barracuda R2. There is ample room for 2 adults and a child, or a dog, extra bags, etc. Like the Barracuda R2, the front seat can be reversed for a single paddler (see video below: How to retrofit a Barracuda R2 for solo packrafting). The rear seat has been moved slightly forward compared to the Barracuda R2, balancing the weight distribution with the extended length of the packraft. There’s also additional usable space behind the rear seat. The Fin Whale can be rolled up into the impressively compact size of 50 x 23 cm (19.6 x 9 inches). This packraft is suitable for a day out on the lake. It does not come with the option of spraydeck, ISS or custom colours. Distinctive Features The biggest selling feature of the Barracuda R2 Pro is its storage space. With most packrafts, your backpack has to be tied across the bow as there isn't much internal room. But the Barracuda R2 Pro has a very spacious hull, enough leg room for two people, and an internal storage system (ISS), where the stern of the boat can be accessed with a water-resistant zipper and the side tubes can be stuffed with more storage. This actually proves to be an advantage in handling the boat and does not affect bouyancy. However, once you open the zip, the craft deflates, so you will want to be strategic about what you store in the side tubes. Using a drybag will make it easy to access your gear from the side tube. The Barracuda R2 Pro comes with a completely removable spray deck. Removing it saves you 1.5 kg. It also has an extra-protected floor, which makes it suitable for harsh environments, although this makes it slightly heavier than the Barracuda R2. It is one of the most robust models of packraft that we carry, and it is great for whitewater. Another advantage of this kayak is that it can fit two people - perfect for a day out with your friend or significant other. The seats can be configured for kneeling (canoe style) or sitting, and the sraydeck can be completely closed for both seating positions! However, you will want to adjust your paddle depending on your seating choice, and if you are kneeling, you might want to use knee pads. R2 means two choices: race or recreation, with two people. This boat gives you maximum flexibility as it can function as a canoe or a kayak; it is stable but also agile and controllable; it handles white water or open water. It is easy to turn and not likely to flip. This packraft is suitable for water hiking, adventure racing, white water kayaking, wilderness tours or long-distance trips. Its versatility makes it feasible to pack with you on a flight, or carry with you in your backpack. The difference between the Barracuda R2 Pro and the Barracuda R2, is that this one has a spray deck and ISS (internal storage system). There is an option to order the Barracuda R2 Pro with a fixed or removable spray deck. We think you'll agree; this is a beauty! Details: Weight: 5.95 kg (13.1 lbs) Capacity (Person): 2 Inner Length: 217 cm (85.4 inches) Outer Length: 356 cm (140 inches) Inner Width: 35 cm (13.8 inches) Outer Width: 97 cm (38.1 inches) Tube diameter: 31 cm (12.2 inches) Pack size: 50 x 60 x 30 cm (19.6 x 23.6 x 11.8 inches) Recommended capacity: 175 kg (385 lbs) Maximum capacity: 230 kg (507 lbs) Speed: 6 (out of 6) Whitewater: Yes (6 out of 6) Seat cushion & backrest: 2 Spraydeck: yes Grab loops: 8 Thigh straps: no Repair material: 20 grams (0.7 ounce) Inflation bag: 130 grams (4.5 ounces) Pack strap/bag: 25 grams (0.8 ounce) Includes: 2 seats, 2 backrests (quick release backrest for the front), inflation bag, repair patches, straps, D type spray skirt, skeg, user's manual Colors: Black with blue, yellow, red, or green stripe, blue, green, red, yellow, orange, purple Comparison Chart MRS offers a three-year warranty. MRS fully supports sustainable development and is deeply involved in the research and development of TPU coated fabric. The TPU fabric in the MRS packrafts are all Swiss Bluesign®-certified, meaning that they are environmental-friendly and manufactured in a safe workspace. Distinctive Features The Alligator 2S Series is a packraft designed mainly for white water and streams. Its fully sealed spraydeck is completely waterproof even withstanding pressure from waves. This packraft is equipped with an adjustable 3-point thigh strap, making it easy to control the vessel as it will move with you. This updated version of the Alligator 2S series has a redesigned stern and bow, making it more stable while at the same time more agile. The adjustment of the packraft's bottom has improved the hull's wear resistance. There is an easy fold option: the material is 210D instead of the regular 420D. The MRS Alligator 2S series has been specially designed for whitewater. This product opens up a whole new realm of hiking possibilities and adventures for you to explore. It is a perfect option for backpacking. The Alligator 2S ISS series comes with an optional internal storage system (ISS), where the stern of the boat can be accessed with a water-resistant zipper and the side tubes can be stuffed with more storage. This actually proves to be an advantage in handling the boat and does not affect buoyancy. However, once you open the zip, the craft deflates, so you will want to be strategic about what you store in the side tubes. Using a dry bag will make it easy to access your gear from the side tube. The Alligator 2S is the budget-friendly version of the Alligator 2S Pro.
