Our Beadhead Water Boatman Cream is an excelent pattern when the boatmen aren't near the surface in significant numbers to use our non-beadhead version. Cast it out, give it a few seconds to sink and then retrieve in a very short, jerky motion. -

The Beadhead Prince Nymph was developed in Monterey, CA and is useful in both still and flowing water. One of our personal favorites for central Alberta's stocked trout ponds. When fishing this fly vary your retrieval speed and motion until you find what works. -

The Beadhead Pheasant Tail is one of the oldest fly patterns still in use today. First used in 1958, it has been in fly boxes ever since and still produces. Not made to represent any bug in particular but represents a wide variety of nymphs. -

As an amazing attractor nymph, we like to fish our Beadhead Lightning Bug under an indicator or a big dry fly. Trout do not like this fly and seem to attack it out of sheer aggression which make for some exciting strikes. -

One of our favourite Brown Trout streams, Prairie Creek is littered with stoneflies and so we tied the Beadhead Kaufmann's Stone Brown. This stonefly has pulled many trout of all kinds from their lairs. Don't take your next trip without one! -

We find the Olive Beadhead Hare's Ear fly generally best used on sunny days. Depending on what you're targeting change how you fish it. If you are going for whitefish consider adding a split shot so you can be sure to get it to the bottom before their strike range. When going for trout experiment to find the right feed zone and if needed even try the Olive Hare's Ear without the beadhead to keep it higher in the water column. -

One of our favorite caddis larva imitations. We like to run our Elk Hair Caddis or Goddard Caddis on the top and use the Beadhead Hare's Ear Brown as the dropper. During a hatch this can be a deadly combination. -

As probably the most popular nymph of all-time, the black Beadhead Hare's Ear is a great scud, sow bug, mayfly nymph, and caddis larvae imitation but also represents a host of other aquatic insects. Stillwater, rivers, small streams, anytime of year it is always a good idea to tie on a Beadhead Hare's Ear. -

We like to fish our Beadhead Crystal Back Scud Tan in rocky or sandy areas, especially after periods of rain. The strategy is simple, cast out and let it sink, then retrieve in a twitchy fashion with plenty of pauses. -

Our Beadhead Crystal Back Scud Pink is designed with a shell mimicking flash on the back which not only makes it more realistic but also helps it stand out in "scud conditions" a.k.a murky water. Let it sink to the bottom and give it some twitches to induce a strike. -

Scuds are an important meal for not just trout but almost all species of fish including walleye. Our Beadhead Crystal Back Scud Olive is our go to for fishing scuds in weeded areas. We like to use this one for short weeds or along side a weeded area and the non-beadhead version for high weeds and shallow areas.
