The Blue Winged Olive (B.W.O.) is a classic dry fly that we've found to be most useful in the in the early to mid-morning. Hatching in very large numbers makes fishing with the B.W.O. very exciting. While tough to see particularly on medium to fast water, we like to estimate where the fly is based upon where it landed and set the hook anytime there is a rise in that area.

Our version of Bjorn's Mr. Creepo Tan/White has the signature bulgy eyes of this particular pattern. Something about those eyes combined with the movement in the water make this pattern irresistible to all types of fish.

The Bjorn's Mr. Creepo Olive/White is a streamer we like to use for both large toothy predators and trout alive. Referred to as "the chicken" by Trickflies.ca staff member Adrienne due to it bulgy looking eyes giving it the look of a cartoon chicken. It's one of her favorite patterns.

Benson's Devil's Tickler Orange With Weed Guard is a seriously effective pattern. With it's big meaty profile it moves a lot of water which in turn brings in the toothy fish.

An effective predator pattern our Benson's Devil's Tickler Black With Weed Guard is a variation of our standard Devil's Tickler with more "meat" and an cemented head.

Our Beadhead Zug Bug is a great searching nymph. We like to use it when we first arrive at a location and no hatch is obvious.

The Beadhead Woolly Bugger Red fishing fly represents a host of food sources, change retrieval rate, pause length and depth to change food. Our go to fly on any new stream, we love to tie them to our Dave's Hopper in a hopper/dropper set up.

Here in Edmonton, Alberta we have had the most success fishing the Beadhead Woolly Bugger Olive in the stocked trout ponds during the early season months. We've found this fishing fly most effective when imitating a leech with slow 3-4 inch strips and long pauses. When using a floating line with our tapered leader make sure to give this fly some time to sink before the retrieve.

The Beadhead Woolly Bugger Brown is one of the more versatile flies in our box. Can be used as a leech, baitfish, shrimp or large nymph. In stillwater just change the retrieval rate and pause length to represent different food sources. When fishing in flowing water it will catch fish on a dead drift, swing and retrieval. Alter the amount of line to change where the swing occurs and you'll see the results.

The Beadhead Woolly Bugger Black is one of the must have streamers in every fly box. As useful on stillwater as it is drifted in streams, trout go nuts for these and they have even been known to hook a walleye from time to time.
